In support of army aviation operations Ft. Carson was funded to construct the Combat Aviation Brigade Attack Battalion Maintenance Hanger and airfield apron. The project consisted of a 148,000 square foot “Net Zero” maintenance hangar with administrative offices and a 14-acre airfield apron. Heavy airfield concrete pavement included 72,600 square yards of 7” & 8” apron pavement and 4,700 square yards of 8” hanger floor pavement. IHC began its work in the fall of 2018 and completed the hanger floor in December of 2019. Concrete paving work was completed without drama and ahead of schedule. The hanger will be completed shortly, and the Attack Battalion will have a comfortable place to keep their aircraft in top operating condition.
